Dr. McNichol’s was retained by such industry pillars as Atlantic Records, Warner Bros Records, Elektra Records, GRC Records, Source and MCA Records for his promotional skills at radio and marketing expertise at retail and distribution.

 

While at Atlantic Records Dr. McNichol’s was instrumental in breaking such R&B artist as Ray Charles, Roberta Flack, Donny Hathaway, Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, Brook Benton and RB Graves.

 

Not only did "Sal Soul Records" distribute McNichol’s Free Spirit Record Label, Dr. McNichol’s independent promotion service made a major contribution in establishing "Salsoul Records" branding at the heat of the Disco era introducing the Salsoul Orchestra, Double Exposure, Free Spirit Cream De CoCo, Loletta Holloway, etc. McNichol’s was also in the Pop Mix at Atlantic Records, as regional marketing and radio promotion chief Dr. McNichol’s was a very important part in establishing at radio the early careers of the Bee Gees, Rolling Stones, Bad Company, Crosby Stills, Nash and Young, Blind Faith, Led Zeppelin, etc..

 

PRODUCUCER CREDITS:

 

Production credits includes, producing gospel Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame recording artist Dorothy Norwood’s highly acclaimed and ground breaking gospel and cross over hit record “You Got To Have Rain In Your Life”. This single charted on the Billboard charts and on Cash Box music charts. Dr. McNichol’s and Edwin Starr's collaboration with Motown Records famed producers Johnny Bristol and Harvey Fuqua to produce the gold single and album 25 Miles. Starr and McNichol’s also collaborated on another one on Starr’s hits “Happy Radio” and “War” written and produced by Rock & Roll Hall of Fame writer and producer Norman Whitfield. Produced the highly acclaim and bootlegged 1976 Tommy Stewart underground hit album titled “Tommy Stewart”. The bootleg cut from the album “Bump and Hustle Music” was a major success in Europe and still shows up on club DJ’s play list in 2017

 

ENTREPRENEUR:

 

Moving to the West Coast Dr. McNichol’s built a very successful outdoor billboard advertising company called “Far West out Door” the only black own and operated billboard company in the United States consisting of over 300 billboards covering the urban areas of Los Angeles. Far West out Door Advertising in the LA market was the major ethic outdoor advertising provider for then the number one black hair care producer Soft Sheen Care Free Curls and Coca Cola. From that success Dr. McNichol’s designed a portable illuminate billboard that Soft Sheen adapted for their national outdoor beauty supply store campaign. Also, from the West Coast Dr. McNichol’s created New Dawn Records a very successful independent gospel imprint distributed by Capitol Records before moving onto Capitol Records. Relocating back to the Midwest Dr. McNichol’s alongside of Fred Hammond was instrumental in starting the F-Hammond Family record label imprint which at that time was called Face To Face Communications.

 

CURRENTLY:

 

Dr. McNichols is the CEO Angel Dove Music Entertainment Media Group I.P.W.G; through joint ventures, relationships, production deals, music licensing agreement and consulting has established the company as a successful independent global entertainment music business. Consisting of dance record label Web Foot Dance, inspirational label Angel Dove Praise, urban record label “4th Ward Records”, “Web Foot Dance” has produced several projects with celebrity DJ’s such as England’s DJ Judge Jules, Belgium’s Alex Torn, Dutch Paul Mixtailes and Norwegian DJ Prince and music producers plus . Intellectual properties management such as music publishing, copyrights, management, recorded masters licensing and “Classic Duds” merchandising. “Fresh Ideals”, overseas social media, marketing and promotion.

 

In the growth of this executive entertainment portfolio and brand Angel Dove Music Entertainment Media Group CEO Dr. Marlin McNichol’s signed the number one group in Zydeco Music Dwayne Dopsie And The Zydeco Hellraisers to Crew Records. Increased the company visibility and market share in the dance global business with a joint distribution digital deal with inYourface Records and Symphonic digital distribution. Along with Dr. Joyce McNichols CEO of Sound in the Spirit the duo is creating several radios shows namely “I Married a Music Man” lunching summer 2020 and serval ministry projects.
