GOOOD NEWS / Kazoo Curtis, is an imprint label under the family of Angel Dove Global Media Group Worldwide. The brand sprinted forth from a request for the original vocals by DJ Prince of Norway to do a remix on the 1970’s hit “I Don’t Now What It Is But It Sure Is Funky” by the group Ripple which was denied by the copyright owner.
But that set back was just a hick up not a deal breaker but a stepping stone whereby the original group members Curtis “Kazoo” Reynolds (Kalamazoo, MI) and Angel Dove Global CEO Dr. Marlin McNichols (Battle Creek, MI) both Midwest boys that grow up 25 miles apart and had not seem each other in 40 years took the bull by the horns and made lemons into lemon aid that spark into a new business. In fact this whole story has come full circle’, it was Dr. Marlin McNichols who was GRC Records National Promotion Director over 40 years ago that was in charge of radio promotion bringing GRC a number one record on “I Don’t Know What It Is But It Sure Is Funky”.
Now this whole idea has turn into the release of a 15 songs GOOOD NEWS COMPILATION ALBUM release supported by 15 videos featuring remix from DJ Prince who started this whole gumbo music soup adventure consisting of House, Neo Soul, Techno Soul, RnB with contributions from other top celebrity DJ’s from across Europe plus production and mixing from the USA.
This story of putting together the final touches on GOOOD NEWS COMPILATION release could not be completed without GOOOD NEWS President “Kazoo Curtis” and Angel Dove Global CEO Dr. Marlin McNichols bringing back the original lead singer of Ripple Keith “Doc” Samuels who is featured on three cuts. Curtis Reynolds said, “it was “Doc” voice that carried us to the top of the charts as Ripple and it’s wonderful having him back in the new self-contained group Ripple 2.20”.

Yuki "T-Groove" Takahashi is a Japanese producer, arranger, remixer & composer of Soul, R&B & Nu-Disco from Tokyo. He is well known as a one of the top remixer/arrangers in UK/European soul scene. He remixed and arranged many hit singles for Tom Glide "Soul Life (feat. This time around “T-Groove” along WITH his side kick hit making great guitar player Yuma Hara teamed up with one of their OLD G’S from across the pond Dr. Marlin McNichols and his side kick GOOOD NEWS Kazoo Curtis in a remix of a Joyce Dozier / Tony Homer produced song titled …andMOVE.
Dr. Marlin McNichols said “we were in studios all around the world recording and remixing for our GOOOD NEWS EXPERIENCE COMPILATION ALBUM. I had this great house track produced by internationally and global celebrity DJ Judge Jules and the “Hit Makers” from Germany. Since the theme and vision for the project was bringing a worldwide creative community together production several genres of music. So when looking at the far East we tap into the best of the best Yuki “T Groove” Takahashi and he and Yura Hara in their remix give us a soulful boil of RnB with a taste of honey” matching the intensive but rhythmic vocal of A Girl Named JOE.
